- Andy Collingwood agreed to be GPTU Northern spokesperson.
- Green Left Headcorn Summer event Video clips of some of the proceedings and some of the papers presented were on Green Left Blog (http://greenleftblog.blogspot.com/ )
- .GP conference School of Oriental and African Studies, London: 5th to 8th Sep 2008
- GPTU stall P.Murry has banked £30 from sales. Thanks to those who donated items for sale.
- Motions C01 (C21) Trade Union Reps passed and C02 (C29) Minimum/Maximum Wage passed with an amendment that changed a maximum wage to a high tax rate The meeting commended Adrian Cruden for his support for the motion and his speech against the amendment.
- It was reported that there had been problems getting to the first SOC report session because of registration snags.
- Fringe 6/8/2008 1900. thanks to Payam Torabi for arranging speakers (Theresa Hayter and Bob Hughes) Video clips of some of the proceedings were on GPTU blog (http://gptublog.blogspot.com/ )
- NB SERTUC/CPBF fringe organised by Sue Tibbles went well with speakers V.Lennon (BECTU) and Tim Gospill (CPBF)
- Anti-academy meeting on 5/8/2008 reported to have gone well.
- Motion on right to rent passed.
- Population Policy workshop seemed to have a majority critical of the proposed population policy, but this may be discussed again at next conference.
- TUC panel discussions reported to have focused on windpower.
- Future of GPTU;
- the GPEW communications strategy advocated focusing on the achievements of green councillors, and encouraging support from TU´s.
- GPTU needs to be seen to be doing more

- JJ Caspell to prepare on line diary of GPTU related/relevant events for blog
- Meeting with Jean Lambert
- subjects mooted included TU Environment Reps, Viking Cases ("Is this the end of TU rights in Europe?")
- Pete Murry has liaised with Danny Bates re time ,subject etc. both prefer a date in early (Feb.?) 2009

- GPTU welcomed the newly elected GPEX diversity co-ordinator and hoped that we could work together on issues of Welfare Reform esp.; appointing an Older Persons spokesperson.

- "GPTU notes that the NUT, and PCS, are balloting for strike action over public sector pay and that Unison still has the possibility of calling strike action over this issue. GPTU supports industrial; action over this issue when relevant Unions decide it is appropriate especially as the pay settlements currently being discussed are below current inflation rates"
