GPTU Meeting Minutes: Wednesday 20/5/2010 Royal Festival Hall, Southbank, London SE1 6.30pm.

- JC Piedra Tribunal expected on (15//5/10???) AH to get further details
- Manifesto had been strengthened on support for Campaign Against Anti-TU Laws (Is a conference motion on this needed? Subscription may need renewing?)
- Visits Tom Paine´s House , Lewes (JC to invstigate), Headcorn (JH)
- PM to draft model mortion on education cuts

- How definite/permanent was the reprieve of Whittington A&E?
- Is N.Lynch organizing meeting with FBU rep?
- Some GP office staff ahd joined GMB.
- On-line Links to Housmans Booksop still neede to be set up.
- New Workers´ Rights leaflets and PDF available from AH.
- Treasurers´s report: statements being sent £:144.25 in bank. Fundraising (via quiz & Trades Councils needed).
- Election; a definitive analysis of GP performance needed (AH to see if GPEX had done one). Estimates were that nationally the vote had reduced . In London the ´left of Labour´vote seemed to have collapsed.

- PM could not help with stall due to SOC duties etc , (liaison with Birmingham comrdes needed (AH?)
- More conference motions needed asap.
- Fringes :Education Cuts with speakers from UCU, NUT, NUS (AH to contact JS re booking slot),

- BA dispute. Union has won appeal. Info needed re picket lines etc
- Middx philosophy dep´t occupation: More info needed.
- After discussion the meeting aggreed to support the candidature of Paul Holmes in Unison gen Sec election.JH to draft statement outlining reasons for this.
- Messsage of support to PMacC to be drafted.
- Some ´dissident´ Irish greens monitoring effects of EU policies (inc 15% public sector pay cuts & unemployment benefit cuts)
