  1. Minutes of GPTU 14th May 2008 Agreed for accuracy & no matters arising
  2. Finances. £149.14 in current acc´t

    £120 paid to P.Murry for hire of room at Friends House

    Treasurer takes charge of Cheque book

    P.Murry to supply treasurer with copies of bank statements.

  3. GPTU conference (NB PM following up suggestions for a replacement speaker )
  4. Tolpuddle PM to attend with Mark Douglas
  5. GP conference
    1. Motion to adopt "Europe is a continent of migration (European Green Party Adopted Paper)" ruled out of order, the proposers intended to appeal against this decision; members should attend the SOC report meeting (probably first meeting of conference on 5/9/2008.
    2. Other GPTU supported motions (min/max wage, environmental reps) probably on agenda TBC
    3. Stalls and Fringe on migrant workers (PM to book)
  6. Unite Against fascism demo (:PM to attend (would bring banner if assured other GPTU members would be present)
  7. RISE Festival in Finsbury Park on July 13th. P Murry to assist MD with stall. The meeting noted that the new Mayor of London had issued an instruction to the effect that: "anti-racism will no longer be the central message of the Rise festival. This is confirmed by initial publicity which drops the message "London united against racism" and all reference to opposing racism." The Secretary to draft an open letter protesting against this decision.
  8. Gleft summer event 16/8/08 Headcorn. Papers invited from GL members.
  9. Convention of left 20-24 September Manchester Chris Hyland to be asked for report on steering meeting
  10. GPTU winter event with Jean Lambert agreed to proceed with this possibly late November 2008?
  11. GMB et al noted that the relations of the Green party to Trades Unions needed strengthening
  12. Agreed to draft letter of protest re suspension of Pat Carmody (union rep at the Old St office of call centre firm Pell & Bales.
  13. Agreed to ask Paul Frost to become GPTU spokesperson in Midlands
  14. Discontent over cold call canvassing during leadership referendum had been subject of motion passed by London Federation of GP´s calling for an investigation.
  15. Green left planning public meeting on Latin Americas on 2/9/2008 (i.e. day before GP conference) in central London venue.
  16. Socialist resistance events at ULU 10am-6pm with several European political speakers, Joseph Healy would be speaking on behalf of Green left.
