  1. Minutes 18 June 2008: Accuracy/ Ommissions as follows
    1. GPTU conference discussion included publicity
    2. Fundraising agreed to discuss a pub quiz with N.Lynch
  2. Minutes 18 June 2008 Matters Arising
    1. Convention of Left 20-24 September Manchester Chris Hyland to be asked for report on steering meeting which takes place 16/7/2008.
    2. GPTU winter event with Jean Lambert agreed to proceed with this possibly late November 2008? Contact D.Bates
    3. Pat Carmody union rep at Pell &: Bales had been sacked. Letter of protest sent.
    4. Paul Frost had agreed to be GPTU midlands spokeperson.
    5. Joseph Healy spoke at Socialist resistance events 28/6/2008 on behalf of Green Left.
  3. Arrangements and publicity for Brighton Conference
    1. Members urged to do all they could to maximise attendance
    2. posters/leaflets available from P.Murry.
    3. P.Murry to liase with P.MacCafferty re arrangements for day.
  4. Pride.(5/7/2008) P.Murry to attend GP stall with Gptu literature.
  5. Tolpuddle (18-20/7/2008)P.Murry to attend GP stall with Gptu literature.
  6. Rise: an open letter Tp Boris Johnson protesting against anti-racism no longer being the central message of the Festival published in E.Standard and posted to blog. Union funding withdrawn for this reason (see GPTU blog).
  7. Green Left summer event 16/8/08 Headcorn. Papers invited from GL members.
  8. GP conference Motions: Motion to adopt "Europe is a continent of migration (European Green Party Adopted Paper)" ruled out of order, the proposers intended to appeal against this decision; members should attend the SOC report meeting (probably first meeting of conference on 5/9/2008). Min/Max wage & TU Environmental reps on agenda. Members urged to vote in Prioratisation ballot, closing 24/7/2008, (details on GP website).
  9. GP conference: Stall to be booked and Fringe on migrant workers booked.
  10. Unison strike 16-17 July
  11. RMT Cleaners strike for details of strike and support events see http://catpblog.blogspot.com and there will be a meeting in solidarity with the cleaners organised by the Labour Representation Committee at 6pm, on Tuesday 8 July, at Portcullis House, by Westminster tube - featuring a number of trade union speakers.   12. NHS birthday demo 4/7/2008 at DoH, Richmond House 79 Whitehall London SW1 4pm.
  13. AOB; J. Carver had contacted TU Certification Office who stated that the only data that they retained re TU political funds were copies of Union rules and rates of its levy.
