Left planning meeting.16/7/2008
- Pat Carmody Union rep at Pell & Bales had been
reinstated (report on blog).
- The meeting regretted that Paul Cooney had resigned
from with GP, Pete Murry had written to him . Andy
Collingwood to be asked to be GPTU Northern
spokesperson.
- Brighton GPTU conference had taken place with
disappointing attendance but a high quality of
discussion.
- Pete Murry had attended Pride and Tolpuddle
assisting with GP stalls and distributing GPTU
leaflets
- 16-17 July Unison strike had been well supported in
some areas by GP councillors and activists (see blog)
- R.Phoenix and Derek Wall had attended NHS birthday
demo 8/7/2008
- Green Left Headcorn Summer event 16/8/2008 report back
needed.
- GP conference School of Oriental and African
Studies, London: 5th to 8th Sep 2008
- GPTU stall agreed,volunteers needed. D.Wall to be
asked for copies of book to sell.
- Motions C01 (C21) Trade Union Reps and C02 (C29)
Minimum/Maximum Wage had been placed at top of agenda
- Members reminded that a challenge to ruling Migration
motion out of order could come up at SOC report on
Monday (See timetable and agenda for conference at
http://www.greenparty.org.uk/nextconference).
- Fringe 6/8/2008 1900. thanks to Payam Torabi for
arranging speakers (Theresa Hayter and Bob Hughes)

- approx £29 in bank.
- Liaise with Noel lynch re pub quiz possibly in
Southwark
- AOB: JC to ask Natalie Bennett to place notice in
Internal news letter inviting TU members to join GPTU.
- Next meeting to be arranged with Sue Tibbles in late
September.
