
WHAT IS THE GREEN PARTY TRADES UNION GROUP?
The Green Party Trade Union Group is part of the Green Party of England & Wales, set up under the rules of GPEW on the same basis as its other sub-groups
Membership of GPTU is open to any current members of GPEW.
The usual method of joining will be to join the GPTU email list, (contact Noel Lynch: noellynch@tiscali.co.uk ).
GPEW members can also join by contacting GPTU committee members.
GPTU aims to provide a discussion forum and support for GP members in who sometimes find themselves in a minority in their Trades Unions.
GPTU also aims to further good relations between GPEW and Trades Unions and the labour movement nationally, internationally, locally and regionally, by putting forward policy and campaign proposals to GPEW and to Trades Unions. It campaigns on behalf of GPEW by participating in Trades Union and other political and cultural events and by drafting and distributing appropriate publicity materials. GPTU aims to encourage Trades Unions to give financial and other support to GPEW.

First Agenda deadline: Deadline for motions for the First Agenda: Tuesday June 1st 2010 Motions and voting papers should be sent to Pete Murry, Convenor of SOC at soc@greenparty.org.uk.
Any motion to Autumn Conference must be proposed by a current member, and separately seconded by at least 3 other current members. SOC will not accept e-mailed motions with a list of seconders attached. The First Agenda will be published no later than 21st June 2010.
Final Agenda deadline: Deadline for amendments to the First Agenda and reports from Party bodies: Thursday July 15th 2010 Amendments to motions for inclusion in the Final Agenda should be sent to the Convenor of SOC
The Final Agenda will be published no later than 31st July 2010. For further information on how to submit motions and amendments, please consult the Standing Orders for the Conduct of Conference (available on the Standing Orders Committee page of the Members Website) or contact Pete Murry to discuss any issues.
